In 2021 I founded Spinthout – which means sapwood in English. Sapwood is part of the tree trunk through which the fluids flow – the new wood that grows around the old wood. Sapwood keeps the tree alive and growing.
Spinthout is dedicated to creating productions and events around the relevance of classical (vocal) music in our modern society. In these productions, we create a connection between living stories around today’s issues, and classical or newly composed music. Our productions often bring different disciplines together: music, theatre, visuals arts, literature and/or film.
Like sapwood, we aim to regenerate the classical music tradition and allow it to grow and renew itself.
